 Obedience

I think it’s hard to teach obedience, it’s seems that we obey (in the secular definition) because of a painful motivator or a love motivation. As children we obey because the option is pain. True obedience Is not blind and has all of the facets that I wrote about. In my opinion Obedience is in many ways a lifestyle of self denial for the greater good of ones soul and the body of Christ.
I love the example or picture of what a bond slave is emptied of self ,walking in humility before his master , obeying him to the point of possible hardship, even death. Completely sold out. The motivator is love for the master.

Previous to the fall we “listened” to God daily , Adam and Eve knew they unlistened as it were when they ate of the fruit and hid. Our listening has been messed up since, but since we are restored it seems the listening should recommence.

I don’t think the concern of any one getting mad should an issue. Let the Holy Spirit sort that out ,sometimes the burr of heaven is placed under our seat to make us uncomfortable. I think obedience can be taught by the Holy Spirit , but we are limited to talking about it and it’s facets. The practical aspects of discovering what the old-timers called a prayer closet or something similar puts us in a place to practice one on one with God. Learning to discipline the mind and focusing in the Holy Spirit. This where the gift of tongues should be used to focus.AND of course personal worship.
Only a regenerated heart will desire to obey and learn to listen. The sheep that has had a brush with death or disaster will pay closer attention to the Shepherd’s command.

I hope this helps I wrote what came to my heart. May Gods word which richly dwells within you give you direction in this guidance.
Shalom
